521 CMR 20.00: Accessible Route
An accessible route shall provide a continuous unobstructed path connecting accessible spaces and elements inside and outside a facility. Accessible routes may include but are not limited to walks, halls, corridors, aisles, skywalks, and tunnels.

This public sidewalk extends about a quarter of a mile and is a very heavily traveled, The sidewalk leads to the Methuen Fire and EMT Department North Station. Hampstead Street had been resurfaced at least two times I know of since 1990.

As a previous member for the Methuen Commission on Disability as their chairperson I’ve had many conversations with the DPW Directors and Mayors bringing this to their attention with only promises of addressing this sidewalk. No action bu the city to review this has been addressed to date.

Width of sidewalk is less that 48″ in many locations.
